With Manchester United constantly spending big money, it’s not often you’ll find the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern fretting over a player potentially leaving the club.
Indeed, it seems the only club that can scare our resident Red Devils when it comes to nabbing players from them is a certain Real Madrid, who have been strongly linked with a move for star stopper, David De Gea.
Now, according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, the Champions League-winners are keen on ANOTHER Old Trafford star. They claim Zinedine Zidane has a four-man shortlist to replace Alvaro Morata, who recently joined Chelsea in a club-record deal.
Reportedly on that list is United youngster Marcus Rashford. One of the most exciting talents in Europe, he’s a popular figure in the Tavern, having enjoyed a meteoric rise from the club’s academy to a first-team star.
The England international is dubiously said to be rated at just €18m within the report and is apparently just one of the names under consideration in the Spanish capital. Kylian Mbappe is believed to be the number one target, though if he proves too expensive, the likes of Rashford, Timo Werner, Kasper Dolberg and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are said to be options.
Still, the report does state that Jose Mourinho will not let the 19-year-old depart, much to the delight of our United-mad punters.
