Manchester United will want this season to come to an end even with popular figure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now at the helm.
It’s been a complete disaster so far and it’s hard to imagine that Solskjaer will have the instant impact everyone is hoping for.
Nevertheless, he has time to turn things around but Ed Woodward will have to help him with that.
Manchester United have recruited very poorly over the recent transfer windows and that needs to improve if they genuinely want their team to improve.
The biggest issue for United has been in defence, where keeping clean-sheets has been a massive problem. With the back-line constantly being rotated, no one has made a good impression and a big centre-back is needed ASAP.
Although not a world-class player yet, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Nico Elvedi is well on his way to that title if he keeps up performances.
Elvedi, (who is valued at £22.5 million on Transfermarkt) is a talented young defender who could make all the difference to United’s season.
The 22-year-old has been at the heart of defence for Monchengladbach, as they’ve reached 2nd place in the Bundesliga.
As a Swiss international, Elvedi is used to challenges, like he faced when playing at the World Cup in the summer.
He can also be useful to Manchester United as a right-back but the centre-back role will be a priority. Elvedi has made 15 appearances so far this season, showing almost every game how good a defender he can be, as he’s helped towards gaining six clean-sheets.
Manchester United needed a change in management but also players, which they must do by signing Nico Elvedi in January to improve their defence.
