‘Positive vibes’, ‘Actually delighted’ – Man United fans on Twitter react to fitness boost

The Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern are eager to see their side return to winning ways when they face Swansea in the Carabao Cup this evening.

Manchester United’s unbeaten streak this season came to an abrupt end on Saturday when they suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Premier League newcomers Huddersfield. Mourinho will be hoping his side can put their defensive woes behind them and comfortably secure their place in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup with a victory in Wales tonight.

Despite being forced off through injury midway through the first half on Saturday, Phil Jones has been passed fit to travel to Swansea. The injury that forced Jones to come off on Saturday proved to be a pivotal turning point in the match. Without Jones’ presence commanding the back four, United looked a shadow of the defensive unit they have been so far this season.

However, with Tottenham due to travel to Old Trafford on Saturday, the United contingent propping up the bar here believe Mourinho should rest Jones tonight if there is even the slightest doubt regarding his fitness.

Some United fans on Twitter are deeply concerned by Jones’ inclusion in the squad for this evenings fixture, and many believe Victor Lindelof should be given an opportunity from the outset to make amends for his woeful performance against Huddersfield.

Still, there are some obviously happy faces at the notion of his inclusion, believing him to be the best defender at the club right now.

Here’s what the fans had to say in response to the latest team news.
