Manchester United fans here in the Tavern are hoping that an injury-free remainder of the season can springboard a Champions League charge for their side.

Jose Mourinho has always been a man for the big stage, and he has the perfect opportunity to prove himself as the Red Devils are set to encounter a two-legged tie with Spanish club Seville in just over two weeks time. However, they are at less than full strength as injuries have staked their claim on the United side, with yet another one of their star players awaiting assessment on an injury picked up in the weekend's game. Indeed, according to reports from ESPN, Manchester United are monitoring Marcus Rashford's muscle injury sustained against Huddersfield.

Indeed, it wasn't all smiles for United at the weekend as their 20-year-old prodigy will be assessed this week after picking up a muscular injury in a match that saw him originally substituted on with 20 minutes of the game remaining. But, United's injury crisis is the worry as it looked to have claimed its next victim as he soon suffered the injury in the short amount of time spent out on the pitch. Although, United fans can breathe a sigh of relief as it's believed that they are reportedly hopeful for the youngster to pass the fitness test in accordance to whether he can travel with the squad to next weekend's game against Newcastle United.

But, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Daley Blind, Eric Bailly and Marouane Fellaini already sidelined through injury, the Red Devils are starting to look slightly worse for wear as squad depth comes into question.

Landlord's Verdict:

Marcus Rashford hasn't been a main feature in this Manchester United side this season, as Mourinho looks to chop and change while conserving the energy of the youngster. And, with Alexis Sanchez having signed recently for United, not having Rashford in the side won't be too big of a miss after coming on as a substitute in their last outing. Nevertheless, good news that it's not anything serious for one of United and England's brightest prospects.
