Potentially worrying Man United reports emerge despite strong season start

It’s been a wonderful start to the Premier League campaign for the Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern.

Indeed, the Red Devils sit joint top of the tree with arch-rivals Manchester City after 5 games and the punters propping up our bar are confident of a first league title since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

After they win their first, whenever it is, the Old Trafford giants can start plotting the next dynasty to take place at the Theatre of Dreams. So, reports from the Sun have proven rather worrying indeed.

They claim the club are sweating on the future of one of their brightest youngsters, Angel Gomes. Touted for big things in the Tavern, the 16-year-old forward is reportedly being tracked by Barcelona, with his contract currently due to expire next summer.

Should the talented teen refuse to extend his stay with the club, he could leave for around £4m and a number of top European sides are thought to have tracked Gomes for a while now.

Landlord’s Verdict:

United simply cannot allow Gomes to depart, having seen exactly what happened with Paul Pogba. Though just a teenager, Gomes’ rapid rise cannot be ignored and the thought of losing him is very scary indeed.
