Report reveals how just one game could earn Man United whopping £40m

The Europa League may not be the most inspiring competition in the world, though the punters in the Transfer Tavern have been paying it more attention in recent years.

Chelsea won it back in 2013 of course and Liverpool made it to last year’s final, with Manchester United just a positive result away from following their bitter rivals there.

While, clearly, the Champions League is the competition everyone wants to be in, though reports from ESPN have added more glamour to the UEL.

They claim the Red Devils are in line to make a whopping £40m if they progress into next mont’s final, more money than they made in the Champions League last term.

Indeed, should they win June’s showpiece in Stockholm, United will receive that money AND be able to compete in the Champions League next season, despite some stuttering Premier League form.

Who said the Europa League was that bad, hey?
