As another day dawns the staff here are once again greeted with not with a cheery ‘hello’ but with an instant ‘Well, Pogba?’ from every punter that comes through the doors here at the Football Transfer Tavern.
The saga has gone on for so long now that the Landlord has replaced our 50p swear jar, with a Pogba jar, mention his name more than once and it’s 50p in the jar.
However, we may finally be coming to the end as the Daily Record are claiming that the deal between Man United and Juventus is done.
The report claims that, according to sources on both sides, a deal worth £108.9m was finalised on Wednesday, with £83.8m going into the bank account at the Juventus Stadium and the Frenchman’s infamous super-agent, Mino Raiola, pocketing the remaining £25.1m as part of a 30% sell on fee.
The deal smashes the world transfer record, set by Real Madrid when they bought Gareth Bale from Tottenham, it also breaks the British transfer record, set by the Red Devils when they signed Angel Di Maria from the Galacticos.
United fans, is this finally it? We at the Football Transfer Tavern are still sceptical, we’ve seen too many ‘deal done’ reports to believe anyone now, but what do you think? Let us know below…
