‘Retire him’, ‘He’s done here’ – Angered Man United fans don’t hold back after Mourinho update

Manchester United fans here in the Tavern are looking for their side to be firing on all cylinders, and they’re going to need every player to be at the top of their game in order to do this.

Jose Mourinho’s side have been slightly fortunate with their injury list this season, as very few of their star men have spent extended periods of time out on the sideline. Although, United were forced into making some precautionary purchases in the transfer window as Romelu Lukaku joined the club, a move that dethroned the previous ruler in Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish international returned from a serious knee injury in November, just 7 months after rupturing his ACL, although it seems he may have rushed back too early. After only managing to feature in 102 minutes of Premier League football in the entirety of this season, the Swede’s misfortunes have continued as he still makes his way back from an injury that’s forced him out since Boxing Day.

But, with his performances so far this season far from the standard of Ibrahimovic that fans have grown to love, questions are being raised about whether his days at Old Trafford are numbered. Nevertheless, manager Jose Mourinho gave his verdict on Ibrahimovic’s current ‘injury’ status via Manchester United’s Twitter account, as he states that the Swede is attempting to adapt to the demands rather than suffering from injury.

Following the club’s post, fans were quick to disregard the striker as they looked at getting rid of the Swede, while claiming he’s well past his time.

Nevertheless, here’s a look at exactly the sort of reaction that fans gave off on social media…
