Though it’s still early days for Paul Pobga at Old Trafford, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern sure take some convincing.
The Frenchman is yet to hit the heights expected of him following an £89m arrival over the course of the summer.
Largely anonymous in games against Manchester City and Feyenoord, the 23-year-old has invoked the ire of some of the Red Devils propping up the bar.
So, a point raised by Old Trafford legend Paul Scholes has been met with raucous agreement by some of our drinkers.
He has suggested signing players such as Luka Modric or Toni Kroos, masterful ball-players, would help the ex-Juventus ace excel.
Largely utilised as a holding midfielder in 4-2-3-1 formation, he excelled in Turin playing as a left interior in a 3 man midfield.
“I know he’s (Mourinho) happy with the four players he’s bought but they still need that type of player”, said the 41-year-old.
”A Luka Modric or a Toni Kroos. I think these players are available. I think Paul Pogba would be a much better player playing with these types of players.”
After paying £89m, should United really buy another midfielder? Let us know below…
