Our landlord is fully expecting the Romelu Lukaku transfer saga to rumble on for quite a while yet, but the Mirror have already brought an interesting update to the table regarding his agent being spotted leaving Manchester United’s team hotel.
Yep, silly season is underway and there are all manner of reasons Mino Raiola may have been at The Lowry in Manchester – he represents Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, after all – but the Mirror speculate that he was there to discuss Lukaku’s future.
The Belgian striker looks set to leave Everton in the not too distant future with reports having already indicated that he’s told the club he will not sign a new contract with them, and with Man United in need of a talismanic centre-forward long-term given Ibrahimovic’s age, the rumours do at least have some logic to them.
The Mirror go on to say that Raiola left minutes before Red Devils vice chairman Ed Woodward, seemingly stoking the fire to lead us to believe the pair met to talk about Lukaku, while confirming that the first-team squad were also there as they gear up for their Europa League clash with Rostov.
Romelu Lukaku is the ideal striker for Manchester United – agree?
