‘Sell him’, ‘First one out the door’ – Man United fans slate star after club’s Twitter post

Manchester United fans here in the Tavern have been heavily critical of some of their star players so far this season, after witnessing some less than convincing performances.

Old Trafford has created some rather hostile environments at times this season, as Jose Mourinho has struggled to replicate the glory days that Sir Alex Ferguson produced during his time at the helm. Indeed, it was always going to be impossible for United supporters to expect the same success that the Manchester great achieved, after enjoying some of the most successful years in the club’s history.

But, it’s been the performances of one of United’s most reliable players in years gone by that’s caused for major concern, as Chris Smalling has had one of his most inconsistent seasons since joining the club back in 2010. Following the club’s post, fans were quick to slate the Englishman for his efforts so far this season, as they wish to see him play no further part in any future success at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, here’s a look at exactly the sort of reaction being given off by supporters on social media…
