Star expected at Carrington ahead of likely Man United deal

Following the 4-0 thumping of West Ham United, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are dreaming about a genuine Premier League title tilt.

Indeed, our resident Red Devils believe Jose Mourinho finally has the tools to restore United back to the top of English football at long last, spearheaded by £75m signing Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian notched twice on his debut at Old Trafford to allay fears he’s not quite up to United’s standard, endearing him to the punters propping up our bar.

As if the idea of a man such as Lukaku leading the line wasn’t good enough, reports from the Sun have gone down a real storm today. They claim Zlatan Ibrahimovic is due back at Carrington within the next 24 hours as he ramps up his return from a serious knee injury.

Released over the course of the summer, the 35-year-old suffered a serious ailment against Anderlecht back in April and is currently without a club. However, Jose Mourinho recently admitted the club were discussing a potential move to bring him back and it seems Ibra will be mixing with United’s current crop once more.

A deal is reportedly expected and the former Barcelona and AC Milan superstar could don the famous red shirt once more.

As you can well image, our resident Red Devils are absolutely delighted about the idea of seeing him return.

Landlord’s Verdict:

For Lukaku, learning from Ibrahimovic would be a huge help. With the Swede backing up the new No.9 for crucial parts of the campaign, United surely have one of the most devastating attacks in the Premier League.
