The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern were once again underwhelmed when Alexis Sanchez failed to make an impact in their Champions League tie against Sevilla last night.
Mourinho’s men ground out a 0-0 bore draw at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, a result which has led to criticism of a number of players, none more so than January signing, Alexis Sanchez. Indeed, as popular as the Chilean was during his early days as a United player, he really needs to start proving his worth.
Alexis was hooked after an uninspiring 75 minutes for Marcus Rashford in another performance where he’s failed to live up to the expectations of fans. The Reds could only muster 6 shots to Sevilla’s 25 and without the brilliance of David De Gea, they’d be looking at a much more difficult second leg at Old Trafford in two weeks time.
Since joining United in January, Alexis (who has a whopping £63m valuation on Transfermarkt) has found the net three times in six appearances for his new club but has been criticised for failing to make an impact in games as his new side have failed to score in recent fixtures against Newcastle, Tottenham and now Sevilla.
Fans of the Red Devils will be hoping for their new signing to hit a purple patch in the next few weeks as they look to advance past Sevilla into the Champions League quarter-finals and solidify a place in the Premier League top four following Spurs and Liverpool’s recent form.
Woken up this morning and I've realised, signing Alexis Sanchez has made Manchester United worse. No balance and now impacts the squad. Has to play on the right side of midfield. End of #MUFC

Since Sanchez signed for #mufc, we’ve scored 8 goals in 6 games.
4x vs Yeovil
4x vs Huddersfield (2 matches)

The worst decision Jose has made in recent weeks has been since the arrival of Sanchez, he binned an in-form Martial out of position & onto the bench; Sanchez should have come into the team on the right hand side, it’s definitely affected us #mufc

Been crying out for a right winger for years, we bring Sanchez in and stick him on the left where Martial has been bossing it and still haven't solved the issue on the right.
Martial on the left, Sanchez on the right for Sunday please Jose!! #MUFC
