These 2 amazing young attackers should seriously excite Man Utd fans

Our Manchester United fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are excited about the next wave of youth academy prospects coming through the ranks, with Jose Mourinho not looking to break United’s 80-year-old record of having a youth academy player named in every matchday squad.

Following his appointment, many of our regulars in the bar believed that Mourinho wouldn’t give youth a chance at Old Trafford, however, he seems to be fully invested in the Red Devils’ long-standing tradition with Scott McTominay being a prime example of that.

Our regulars are in full agreeance of Mourinho’s philosophy of, if a United graduate impresses enough to make it into the first team, they’ll know it’s not just for a cameo 10-minute sub stint in a meaningless game. Mourinho’s policy is simple – if an academy player is to be promoted, he must be there to be a first-team fixture and be able to contribute towards the improvement of the team.

Many of the attack-minded players will be looking to follow in the infamous footsteps of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, who have both gone on to shine within the first team over the years. With that said, our landlord takes a look at the TWO players that should be exciting the Red Devils faithful…

Angel Gomes

United fans are already excited at the thought of Gomes making the move up and think Mourinho would be wise to give Angel Gomes some Premier League starts in the final few games of the season. One of the most talented young forwards to have emerged from the club’s academy in recent years, many of the local Mancs are buzzing that he’s committed himself to the club by signing a contract recently.

The Stretford End faithful love a youth player coming into the fold, and none come more exciting than Gomes at the moment.

Indy Boonen

The Belgian created a social media storm when he arrived from Genk in 2015 and the much-touted winger has been earmarked in Belgian as the next Kevin De Bruyne. To some of our punters, it’s not hard to see why.

He has five goals and three assists so far for the development team and surely he’s showing all the signs of being able to make the step up in the near future. Boonen will be a great addition to the first team and our regulars are very excited at seeing this winger follow in the great footsteps of so many wingers before him.
