Our Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving the fact manager Jose Mourinho is proving people wrong with his choice of going with youth in important matches.
In keeping with United’s 80-year record of having at least one youth academy product in the matchday squad, Mourinho has done what many of our regulars thought he wouldn’t and keep the tradition going and release some real gems into his first-team squad.
Still, the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and now Scott McTominay are really flourishing under the Portuguese’s tenure. Indeed, with the conveyor belt showing no signs of stopping our landlord believes there will surely be plenty more to choose from over the coming years and decades.
McTominany is the most recent youth graduate to start to make a name for himself and, in Paul Pogba’s absence, has taken his chance with both hands. Looking very comfortable in the recent matches he’s played, he certainly looks a prospect.
