The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have something to smile about after a weekend of Premier League action thanks to Wayne Rooney for the 250th time, following his record-breaking goal against Stoke City.
While a draw away at the Potters does little to suggest the Red Devils could make a late dash for the Premier League title, the United-mad punters in the bar are inclined to believe Jose Mourinho is building something at the club. Such is the nature of the Red Devils’ standing in the transfer market these days, they also believe there will be some rather big signings indeed.
Still, one of those may NOT be Benfica ace Goncalo Guedes, despite links with him.
According to journalist Duncan Castles, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is not chasing the 20-year-old forward, though those in the Portuguese capital are believed to be working on a sale. A hugely talented young forward, he’s also been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain after bursting onto the scene.

However, our United supporting drinkers believe their frontline is fully packed right now, particularly considering links with Antoine Greizmann and are happy the club may be steering clear.
