Top journalist reveals Man United stalling on colossal deal, also linked with stunning PSG switch

It seems very much like the movers, shakers and decision makers at Manchester United are trying their very best to have their cake and eat it too.

While our Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern have been snowed under with Jose Mourinho rumours over the past few months, those within our famous four walls who wanted the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ to arrive have been met with a crushing blow.

That’s because, according to notable journalist Duncan Castles, the club have stalled on bringing the Portuguese to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.

Instead, they will reportedly ask the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan coach to wait until the summer of 2017 to take the reins.

Castles, as you might expect, went onto reveal that particular arrangement has not gone down well within the Mourinho camp, having been out of work since being axed by Chelsea in December.

French giants Pairs Saint-Germain are thought to have made an approach for him, eager to progress in the Champions League following their domestic dominance.

Though current Old Trafford chief Louis van Gaal has never been the most popular of choices, there is still believed to be strong support for the Dutchman behind the scenes as he enters the final year of his deal.

Has the ship sailed on Mourinho to Old Trafford now? Will we see van Gaal there next year?
