It seems here at the Football Transfer Tavern that the drama surrounding Real Madrid is never going to end, and today Mundo Deportivo report that Angel Di Maria is the latest player to face Jose Mourinho’s wrath.
Once an untouchable fixture in the side, the Argentine’s performances of late have seen him dropped to the bench with Jose Callejon replacing him. Such little faith has been placed in the player by Mourinho that even Kaka and Luka Modric have been played ahead of the winger in a team reshuffle.
Di Maria signed an improved contract not so many moons ago and Mourinho has placed the blame on this perceived complacency to explain the dip in the player’s form. The manager raged at his player in a dressing room exchange that has been printed word for word by who else but Marca, with Mourinho shouting “you aren’t playing at all.”
This has led Mundo to speculate that the player could be on his way out of the club with Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson interested in the player as a potential replacement for the out of favour Portuguese international Nani. Of course should Mourinho depart in the summer and even take up the post at Old Trafford then anything could happen.
