Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are wondering what has happened to their January star signing Alexis Sanchez since he joined the club. He seems to be taking a long time to settle into life at Old Trafford and the Chilean is certainly not living up to the hype.
Sanchez has been given the much-coveted left-sided attacking midfield role and, with that, it’s brought chaos to the already imbalanced team, while putting Martial’s and Rashford’s noses out of joint. It’s hard for our regulars to get in their head around that one of the Premier League’s top players in recent times is not setting the team alight and he’s certainly coming under some harsh criticism of late since his move.
Although Sanchez is playing in his favoured left side of the attacking trio position, his overall play has somewhat declined. Indeed, most of the regulars in the bar were set for the Chilean to rediscover his fine form from his Barcelona days, and fire United to all types of glory, however, the opposite seems to have happened!
If Sanchez is going to be the catalyst for change at Old Trafford, then he needs to seriously up his game because at the moment youth academy graduates and younger players are looking the better option to get the nod ahead of him.
