Many of the punters in the Transfer Tavern are growingly increasingly tired of the amount of criticism levelled at England captain Wayne Rooney.
While there clearly has been a dip in his performances, the fact he was booed at Wembley on Saturday has come much to the annoyance of many a Red Devil propping up the bar.
Dropped for both club and country, Wazza looks to be on the wane as his 12 years at the top catch up with him.
Still, there’s little doubt the 30-year-old remains a legend of English football.
Perhaps we’re all too quick to forget the fact he’s the nation’s record goalscorer, closing in on the same accolade at Old Trafford, as well as a trophy-laden striker.
Across his time with United, he’s won EVERYTHING at club level, playing in three European Cup finals as well as lifting the Premier League title FIVE times.
So, as the tweet below asks, is it really fair to say Wayne Rooney never fulfilled his potential?

In an age where Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi dominate to almost a superhuman degree, Rooney’s not done too badly for a young lad from Croxteth.
