The lunchtime drinkers in the Transfer Tavern have been treated to quite the breaking story as many of them lament England’s performance against Slovakia on Monday.
According to KUMB, West Ham have made an enquiry to Manchester United over the possibility of luring Chris Smalling to the club this summer.
After a shaky start to life at the Theatre of Dreams, the 26-year old has established himself as one of the main players with the Red Devils, as well as perhaps England’s most formidable central defender.
However, new boss Jose Mourinho has already signed £30m Eric Bailly for his new look backline at Old Trafford and has been linked with a £15m move for Argentine ace Ezequiel Garay.
With that in mind, the East London outfit are understood to have made tentative approaches over the notion of luring the former Fulham man back to the capital.
Ahead of their seismic stadium move to the Olympic Park, the Hammers have been linked with all manner of big name stars from around the continent, with manage Slaven Bilic due to lead them into the Europa League next term.
