Woodward tells Mendes: Man United to splash £65m on Real Madrid star

Paul Pogba may be stealing most of the headlines in the transfer market this summer, though the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are lucky enough to be swamped with even more rumours.

With Jose Mourinho seemingly hell-bent on constructing a team full of Galacticos, reports emanating out of Spanish outlet El Confidencial have sent TT tongues wagging.

They claim that United’s transfer guru (ahem), Mr Ed Woodward, has told super agent Jorge Mendes to expect a £65M bid for his client James Rodriguez.

The Colombian has been linked with a move away from Los Blancos after seeing his playing time increasingly limited under Zinedine Zidane.

Despite his standing as one of the elite playmakers in the game today, the 25-year old cannot get a game in the Spanish capital and top brass at Old Trafford have reportedly told Mendes to expect a mammoth bid.

Where would Rodriguez fit in at Man United? Is £65m far too much?! Let us know below….
