Woodward told to land Mourinho’s top target as Man United eye forward

With a vital Manchester derby just hours away, the United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are a bag of nerves.

Having lost the previous encounter, Red Devils all around the world will be praying Jose Mourinho’s men can put one over on their bitter rivals, though the nerves on the faces of those in the bar are notable.

So, at least reports from ESPN have helped take their minds off of tonight’s game somewhat. They claim the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has earmarked Chelsea midfielder Willian as one of his targets ahead of the summer window.

Signed by the Portuguese back in 2013 for the Blues, the Brazilian international has struggled for a regular starting berth and it’s thought Ed Woodward has been instructed to pursue the player.

Mourinho reportedly believes the 28-year-old would add a new dimension to United’s attack and, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s long-term injury, is said to have prioritised a new forward.

While he’s struggled at Chelsea this season, the United fans in the bar are delighted at the mere notion of his arrival.
