Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been arguing amongst themselves this morning as they discuss Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s exclusion from the PFA Team of the Year, but there is now more pressing concerns.
The Daily Mail reports new MLS franchise Los Angeles FC will offer the Swedish striker a whopping £5m-a-year to represent the club, as they face off against city rivals LA Galaxy for the services of the Manchester United forward.
35-year-old Ibrahimovic has excelled in his maiden Premier League campaign with United but his deal at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season.
Whilst discussions regarding an extension are underway, his future remains shrouded in speculation.
Jose Mourinho could still end-up being able to select Ibrahimovic next season though, at least for the first half of the campaign, as it’s added Los Angeles FC will approve a loan exit back to a European side for the first-half of the season.
Whilst the fans in the bar are demanding this deal is blocked by Manchester United, our landlord believes it could happen due to the club’s consistent links with top-class attacking signings this summer.
