The Express revealed that Dani Alves has opted to make an agreement with the Red Devils as he is in the final year of his contract at Barcelona.
The Brazilian attracted interest from all over the globe but he has finally made his decision after not being offered a new deal to extend his stay at the Nou Camp.
His agent, Dinorah Santana, is still treating the situation with caution and has given very little away in terms of his star’s future.
Santana said: “If the club (Barcelona) wanted to renew Alves they would have done it already. I would not do things the way they have.
“We will leave the suitors until December or January… then we’ll decide who to marry.”
But in contrast, FIFA agent, Francois Gallardo has announced that Manchester United have struck a deal with him.
Speaking on a Spanish television show, Gallardo said: “The player will leave Barcelona next season. He has signed a preliminary agreement with Manchester United.”
Although this is magnificent news for the Manchester club, this leaves Chelsea and Liverpool fans feeling very bitter in the Tavern, as they were also chasing the 31-year-old.
And despite the fullback entering the latter stages of his career, Louis van Gaal will still be able to play him regularly and also use him to tutor the younger and less experienced players.
