Manchester United’s January transfer hopes suffer HUGE blow

Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern look frustrated after hearing their January transfer target has ruled out a move to Old Trafford.

According to The Mirror, Mats Hummels has insisted he has no intentions to switch from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United in January after claiming he could stay at the German club for the rest of his career.

Punters in the tavern firmly believe that a world class defender – like Hummels – is exactly what they need to get back to the top after having transformed their attacking options.

This news will force Louis van Gaal to look elsewhere as he is determined to land an elite centre back in January with punters in the tavern once again linking him with a swoop for Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar.

Hummels said: “It’s nice to hear that big clubs like that are interested in you

“I take that as a compliment. But it doesn’t influence me in any way. We earn enough here in Dortmund.

“There will always be someone who can pay more than BVB. But Dortmund have made a lot of progress during my time here. In any case, I believe that it’s enough for me.

“If one day I start thinking about playing abroad, money won’t be the reason. But I don’t even think about that at the moment. We still have so much further to go here.”

Manchester United fans. After Mats Hummels seemingly rejected a move to your club, who would you like to see at centre back? Let us know your thoughts below.
