Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will be handed his England debut against Australia on Friday night just 93 days after the 18-year-old played his first game for the Red Devils.
According to The Guardian, the in-form striker will get the nod to start the game which will take place at the Stadium of Light, with Jamie Vardy absent due to his wedding which takes place tomorrow.
The striker was in fine form towards the end of the campaign and netted an impressive eight goals from his 17 appearances, including key strikes against Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League.
The youngster will be keen to make an immediate impact for the Three Lions with boss Roy Hodgson set to cut three players from his current 26-man squad following Friday’s game, giving Rashford little time to stamp his authority on the team.
One keen follower of the England team is stood at the bar talking to the Transfer Tavern’s knowledgeable landlord and he thinks Rashford could be worth taking to the Euros, stating that he is young and fearless and fits in with the current ethos of the relatively young squad.
Manchester United supporters, what can England fans expect from Rashford? Is this a bridge too far in his development, or will he thrive on playing for England?
