Manchester United’s transfer hopes dashed

ronaldo.jpgHere in the Football Transfer Tavern it is turning out to be a disappointing day for Manchester United fans after the Daily Mail claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo decided he was happy to stay at Real Madrid.

The forward has been linked with a move away since the Gareth Bale transfer saga got heated and now it seems that given the right support from Real Madrid and Florentino Perez not to mention the money on offer, the forward could well commit his future to the La Liga club.

Ronaldo wants much more support when it comes to personal awards after feeling that Los Blancos did not help him in the race for the Ballon d’Or last term and also still wants assurances he is the top dog at the club.

Add to this the fact that he is being offered a contract of £320,000-a-week plus some of the new image rights on offer from the Far East and the USA and you have a Cristiano willing to snub a move back to Old Trafford and commit to Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

As we all know, Ronaldo still holds Manchester United in his heart and is close to former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Had the manager still been in charge at the club one of our punters quips things may have been different but now it seems that retiring in Madrid is the most likely scenario for the Portuguese forward.

Will Ronaldo end his career at the Bernabeu or will he return to Old Trafford in the future? Let us know your thoughts below.
