Manchester United’s transfer hopes up in smoke

hector-morenoThe Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer have been left devastated with yesterday’s injury to Mexican international defender Hector Moreno.

The Espanyol defender suffered a broken leg in yesterday’s World Cup last 16 defeat to Holland and according to the Daily Star, it signals the end of the Manchester club’s interest.

van Gaal was keen on bringing the 26-year-old to Old Trafford from La Liga where he had spent the last few seasons since moving from AZ Alkmaar in Holland.

Inter Milan and Hull City were also rumoured to be interested in signing him but a five month lay-off means the Dutch manager will now look elsewhere.

van Gaal, who takes over at Old Trafford after the World Cup, is still looking to replace Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand at the club.

The long-serving duo left Old Trafford at the end of the season after their contracts came to an end.
