After publicly expressing interest in the November of last year, Sir Alex Ferguson may be making a fresh bid for River Plate’s 18-year old support striker Daniel Villalba.
Since turning on the form at international youth level (with 3 goals in 5 appearances), United may yet have to fight over the youngster’s signature.
With rumours of Michael Owen off to Aston Villa and Federico Macheda going out on loan to Everton, Ferguson will naturally be eager to bolster his offensive ranks with new blood.
If Arsenal do indeed attempt a rival bid, then they have their good reputation for developing young talent to add to their attractiveness. As for Liverpool, the only attraction is a guaranteed starting spot, because there may be some shake-ups in the first team squad, who have significantly disappointed this season.
