Following Roberto Mancini’s appointment at Manchester City, Maicon’s agent has quickly moved to quash any rumours of his client moving to Eastlands.
It is thought that Mancini, who managed Inter before Jose Mourinho, had been planning a raid of his former club looking to snatch up the likes Balotelli and Maicon but speaking to fcinternews.it. Maicon’s agent, Antonio Caliendo said,
“This doesn’t surprise me because Mancini knows Maicon like no other and together they did great things and won so much, but at Inter, Maicon has excellent terms with both the team and the club. And in any case I don’t think he is a player who could move in January.”
Caliendo claims City had a bid of £35m rejected last season so any bid City do make will have to be considerably more if they hope to prise the all action full back away from the San Siro.
[Is there any substance to this and should this rumour Fly or Die?]
