Ralph Hasenhuttl will certainly have his work cut out for him at Southampton this season.
The new manager did witness his side beat Arsenal last weekend, however, they still remain in a precarious spot in the Premier League, with just goal difference keeping them outside of the relegation zone.
Hasenhuttl will likely look to get some of the best out of the players that did not perform during Mark Hughes’ spell, however, it appears one man no longer wants to be at the club.
Rumours have been rife about the Italy international’s future on the south coast, however, with the change of manager, there may have been a chance the forward would be willing to stay.
But Hasenhuttl has been told he needs to sell if he wants to bring in his own additions in January, which could allow for Gabbiadini to leave.
With all the rumours about Gabbiadini making a return to Italy earlier in the winter, it makes no surprise that he could be heading out again.
Coupled with the fact that the £15.3million Claude Puel signing, as per Transfermarkt, did not feature in the squad for the Arsenal game, it looks unlikely that he will have much of a future at the club.
Southampton will need to make new additions to freshen their Premier League charge up and if Hasenhuttl has to make sacrifices for it to happen, then a Gabbiadini departure could be exactly what happens.
