One of West Ham United’s long-term absentees could make his long-awaited return to the side in a few weeks.
Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Manuel Lanzini could be ready for the game against Fulham in two weeks time, should he continue to improve over the next few weeks.
The Argentina international suffered a serious knee injury back in the summer as his country prepared for their World Cup campaign and has been unable to play ever since.
The winger’s creativity has been sorely missed at the London Stadium, however, it appears he could be in line to make his return imminently.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Pellegrini said: “I think and I hope that Manu Lanzini will be ready for Fulham, at least to go to the beach, if he continues improving over the next two weeks.”
Lanzini’s potentially imminent return will be warmly received by West Ham and Pellegrini and they will be delighted to have him in the side.
The Hammers have had a number of injuries to deal with this season, especially within the attacking areas of the pitch and have missed the Argentine’s creativity.
Whether the 25-year-old will be able to return to the form and performances he is capable of producing remains to be seen, but fans will no doubt be excited to see him back in action on the London Stadium pitch.
