West Ham United have been enjoying the past few weeks this summer as they have been able to bring in a number of new additions to the London Stadium.
Manuel Pellegrini has worked hard behind the scenes to ensure his side are in a position to challenge for European football and the signings he has made will go a long way into helping them achieve his ambitious project.
However, the Chilean has suffered a setback to his plans with the injuries suffered by Winston Reid and Andy Carroll, with both expected to miss three months each, and has hinted that he could have to make a few more additions to put them at full strength.
“We are obviously very sad to hear that Andy and Winston have suffered setbacks. This is a big blow for them and us, but we hope to see them back in action as soon as possible,” he told the club’s official website.
“It does mean that we have lost two players in key areas, though, and we’ll continue to work hard with the owners to make further additions to strengthen the playing squad, beyond the five signings already confirmed.”
West Ham will be disappointed to lose two of their players for such a long period of time, however, the possibility of adding a couple more additions to the London Stadium outfit will go down well with the fan base.
The club have already been unfortunate with injuries, having lost Manuel Lanzini for the majority of the season already and the club will be keen to make the right signings to limit their absences as much as possible.
