West Ham supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern in the last week or so, what with their side sealing a 2-0 success over Watford in their previous Premier League encounter to move up to 12th place in the table.
David Moyes’ men were beaten 3-1 by fellow strugglers Brighton in their clash prior to last weekend’s visit of Javi Gracia’s Watford, a result which ended their fine six-match unbeaten run in the league. Yet the Hammers returned to winning ways as goals from Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic secured a routine victory for the East London outfit, in turn moving them four points clear of the bottom three with just 11 games of the season remaining.
Thus, there have been many happy Hammers in the Tavern in the last few days, several of whom are already relishing their side’s return to Premier League action in a weeks’ time when they travel to Champions League chasing Liverpool on Saturday.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident West Ham fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports suggesting that they have been keeping tabs on Hibernian midfielder John McGinn ahead of a possible move in the summer.
The 23-year-old has seriously impressed for Neil Lennon’s side this term with six goals and six assists in 33 appearances in all competitions, helping the team to fourth place in the Scottish Premiership table with just 11 matches of the campaign remaining.
And reports suggest that Hammers boss Moyes sent number two Billy McKinlay to Easter Road on Saturday to monitor McGinn’s progress in his side’s 2-0 victory over Aberdeen, thus furthering the reported interest they showed in the Scotland international earlier this season.
And news of West Ham’s interest in McGinn has stimulated quite a response from Hammers fans on Twitter, many of whom are seriously underwhelmed by the links…

Very much a Moyes signing this one, bit like Osman, don’t mind this kind of signing, he’s a decent player.

Squad player at best

Looks quality. Touch of Brady left foot midfield maestro about him. Big step up though these days sadly from Scottish Prrm to English Prem.
