Everton are already looking ahead to January and the next transfer window after a rather successful summer.
Everton made a total of seven additions this summer, with four of those players arriving on deadline-day, with Richarlison already starring for them in the Premier League.
The Toffees, who have a large squad, could still look to offload a number of players before the end of the month, which will also be an aim of Brands as he looks to build a successful future for the club.
Writing in the matchday programme, he said: “The international window runs on through to the end of August and so from the beginning of September I will be meeting with all my scouts to start the planning for January and the 2019/20 season.”
Brands’ determination to start preparing for the next couple of transfer windows could be a great thing for Everton.
The January transfer window is notoriously difficult for clubs to sign players as they do not want their best players to leave, whilst some will demand extortionate fees for their stars.
However, there will be a concern that the director of football is looking too far ahead already, as the Premier League is still just two games old and some will be concerned that he is already looking at possible player movements.
