Marcel Brands is trying to sign Andre Gomes permanently - Everton

Everton currently find themselves in a promising position to secure a European place at the first time of asking under Marco Silva.

The Toffees have been one of the surprise packages in the Premier League this season, which can be put down to a number of their summer signings making a huge impact. And, it appears as if the club are trying to secure a permanent deal for one of their summer additions, as according to the Liverpool Echo, Marcel Brands wants to bring Andre Gomes to Goodison Park on a permanent deal.

Marcel Brands has reiterated Everton’s desire to bring Andre Gomes to the club on a permanent basis from Spanish giants Barcelona.

Indeed, the Blues made the loan signing of the 25-year-old on transfer deadline day in the summer, and he has since established himself as one of the star performers both at Goodison Park and in the Premier League.

Here’s what Brands had to say on the Portuguese midfielder’s future at the The People’s Place at Marine Street Social:

“He has a fantastic personality.

“He adapted so quickly, he’s a very smart guy and I’ve known him quite a long time and always liked him as a player.

“I’m so happy he is here and our biggest concern is now keeping him.”

Andre Gomes has been one of the form players in the Premier League since enjoying his breakthrough at the club, so it comes as no surprise that Marcel Brands is setting his sights on securing a deal for the midfielder.

The midfielder will have a huge say on how the current campaign pans out for the Toffees having bossed things in the middle of the park so far. But, with his rise in form possibly persuading Barcelona to hold onto him to be a part of their future plans, the Toffees may find it hard to secure him permanently.
