Marcel Desailly: This 26-year-old star isn’t ready to make major Chelsea transfer yet

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern desperately want to see Eden Hazard stay at the club this summer, but it seems as though a departure could be forthcoming…

The attacker has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for several weeks, with Los Blancos seemingly desperate to get the Belgian on board this summer.

However, Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly has recently spoken about the reported transfer, and in a suggestion that well likely please the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern – he thinks that Hazard is not yet ready to move to Real Madrid.

According to Talk Sport, he said: “Remember, Hazard has been in the Chelsea system for five years, and he’s been doing well, but he’s not been doing what we expected of him – scoring goals and being the equivalent of Ronaldo or Messi, he’s on and off”.

Continuing, he added: “I’m not sure he’s ready to change and take the risk, because he will want to play regular football“.

Indeed, whilst Hazard has arguably been the Premier League’s best player this season, there is certainly truth in what Desailly is saying. He has scored regularly and proved vital to Chelsea’s cause – but the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are scoring goals every single week – and the Belgian has yet to reach that level.

He would certainly find it tough to get into the first team ahead of the likes of Bale, Ronaldo and Benzema at Real Madrid – and so maybe a move isn’t the best decision he can make at the moment.
