Marco Silva could look to offload Morgan Schneiderlin and Oumar Niasse in January

Everton have certainly come into their own under the guidance of Marco Silva this season.

Results have not always gone their way, including last weekend’s Merseyside Derby defeat to Liverpool last weekend, however, the Portuguese manager has managed to turn the fortunes around at the Goodison Park outfit and has seen the Toffees produce a number of high-quality performances.

Silva has brought in a number of his players who appear to have settled well to life in the Premier League with Everton, but it appears he could be ready to offload a couple of bodies in January to try and help trim the wage bill and give him some financial spend in the winter.

According to a report by The Times, Morgan Schneiderlin and Oumar Niasse are both thought to be in the firing line.

Both men were expensive signings for Everton when they were initially signed, however, the duo have failed to make the desired impact that the club would have wished they had when they originally acquired them.

Niasse arrived for a fee of £16.11million, per Transfermarkt, whilst they also list the deal for Schneiderlin at £20.61m.

The Verdict:

It would be fair to say that both players have not made the desired impact at Goodison Park and could go down as expensive flops.

Schneiderlin has been used sparingly under Silva and has not been included in the matchday squad for the last six Premier League matches.

Niasse has had just a handful of minutes from the substitutes bench and has not been in the squad for their last nine top-flight games.
