Everton failed to make the most of their possession on Saturday as they were made to settle for a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town.
The Toffees have started the current campaign strongly and could find themselves in a European spot come the end of the season. Interestingly, it appears as if Marco Silva’s hard work went under the radar this summer, as according to Sun Sport, Yerry Mina’s chat with Marco Silva was a real clincher in his decision to move to Everton.
Yerry Mina picked Everton ahead of Manchester United due to a call from Marco Silva and a snub from Jose Mourinho.
Interestingly, the Colombian has told pals that the real clincher was a personal chat with Silva who rang him to tell him why he should join Everton.
Astonishingly, Mourinho did not contact the defender as scheduled while United fretted about finding a centre half – and he blamed his bosses for failing to land their targets.
Everton will be delighted that they managed to secure the services of Yerry Mina as the Colombian has the potential to be one of the best defenders in world football.
Indeed, it’s nice to see Marco Silva finally getting some recognition for the hard work that he’s put in over the course of the summer and so far this season, with the signing of Mina being completely down to his efforts.
