Mark Hughes has expressed his interest in signing Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma on a permanent basis – delighting our local Stoke fans.
The Stoke City manager has publicly expressed his desire to sign Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma on a permanent basis. – according to The Stoke Sentinel. The 22-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Stoke, and Hughes wants to sign the Frenchman from the Blues.
Having sustained a horrific injury in the Champions League against Paris-Saint Germain in the 2015/16 season, Zouma lost his status as Chelsea’s number one young defender and struggled to establish himself as a starter having regained his fitness.
The Frenchman only made nine league appearances for Antonio Conte’s side last season, most of which were as a substitute.
And, even though John Terry left the club in the summer, the likes of Antonio Rudiger arrived whilst Andreas Christensen has played more games, suggesting Zouma has work to do to get back in.
If Stoke City manages to sign Kurt Zouma on a permanent basis, it would be one of the signings of next summer. There aren’t many defenders in the Premier League who possess superior quality to the young French international, and his pace, power and potential would surely make him a big hit.
