Marko Grujic may currently be playing his football away from Liverpool at the moment, however, it appears he may have a chance to play for them in the future.
The Serbia international is currently impressing on loan at Hertha Berlin with his performances and is considered to be one of the best midfielders currently at the established Bundesliga outfit.
Still only 22-years-old, he has only made 14 match appearances under Jurgen Klopp, however, if he continues to play as well as he is, there is no reason as to why he could make a real breakthrough next season.
When asked about his Liverpool career, Grujic mentioned to ESPN that he believes that there is a ‘plan’ in place and it is a target of his to be a regular player in the first-team at Anfield.
“I think [there is a] plan for the future,” he said.
“From every chat we had so far, I thought that they really think about me.
“Maybe I was expecting to play a bit more, but so far I’m happy how I improved in that time. Of course, my target was to be a regular player of Liverpool and I’m still thinking I can do that.”
Grujic has clearly impressed with his performances at Hertha Berlin and it would appear that he could be ready to make the step-up to Liverpool’s first-team in the near future.
Still only 22-years-old, the Serbia international still has plenty of time ahead of him, so the Premier League outfit may decide that another year out on loan could benefit him further, rather than throwing him into the deep end of top-flight football.
With a ‘plan’ seemingly in place for Grujic, it will be interesting to see what happens in the future and whether he will make it as a Liverpool player.
