Liverpool extended their unbeaten run against Southampton on Saturday afternoon as they cruised to a 3-0 victory at Anfield.
The Reds are the team to beat in the current campaign having enjoyed a perfect start to proceedings, with Chelsea and Manchester City also hitting the front. Although, Liverpool did receive negative news on the injury front recently, as according to Liverpool’s official website, Marko Grujic has suffered an ankle ligament injury.
On-loan Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has suffered an ankle ligament injury with Hertha BSC.
The 22-year-old had to be taken off 72 minutes into the Bundesliga side’s 4-2 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday afternoon, his fourth appearance for the club since joining for the season.
And, it was later confirmed by Hertha that Grujic sustained an ankle ligament rupture.
Marko Grujic was very impressive during his loan spell in the Championship at Cardiff City last season, and it sounds as if he was making all the right moves at Hertha Berlin.
However, news that he has suffered a serious injury will be crushing for Liverpool as they have very high hopes for the Serbian, who could possibly force his way into the first team in the future.
So, they’ll be hoping that they can get him back to full fitness and recovered as quick as possible.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
