Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have had little to celebrate this season and their recent loss to Bournemouth hasn’t given them confidence for this evening’s crucial Champions League clash with Porto.
With how the season is progressing, they wouldn’t be surprised if they were knocked-out this evening and they believe their problems began in the summer with questionable transfer activity.
One of the Blues’ summer signings was defender Papy Djilobodji from Nantes, a defender who has made just one appearance since moving to Stamford Bridge.
An exit for Djilobodji is understandable from everyone’s point of view but it signals more embarrassment for Chelsea, who’s transfer record isn’t good in recent years with Juan Cuadrado and Felipe Luis both departing within 12 months of being signed.
With Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao both faltering, and potentially on their way out too, our Blues supporters in the smoking area are wondering what has happened to their transfer policy.
Chelsea fans, who is to blame for all these transfer failures? Let us know in the comments below!
