Martin Jol Can’t Be Taking £5M Price Tag Seriously, Surely?

Fulham look to gain the upper hand over their Premier League rivals, by beating them to the marquee signing of Aberdeen’s Fraser Fyvie.

Martin Jol’s Fulham revolution looks to be gathering pace. If reports from the Daily Mirror are anything to go by, which i’m sure you’d agree they most certainly are, then the Cottagers are about to nab a real gem with the signing of Fraser Fyvie.

And Scotsman Fyvie clearly fancies his chances moving to the big league, with the 19-year-old Aberdeen-born starlet telling Dons manager Craig Brown he has no intention of signing a new contract at Pittodrie when his current deal expires at the end of the year.

Fyvie revealed all to the Daily Record, stating:

“I need to go to progress my career. I feel it’s the right time for me to try my luck elsewhere and see what happens.”

“I may be taking a big gamble but sometimes you have to take a risk. I feel I want to go and challenge myself.”

Boss Brown put a ludicrous £5million price-tag on the sought after player in February, and warned the teenager that those who have abandoned the comforts of Pittodrie early in their careers have failed to fulfil their potential elsewhere.
But the SPL side may be forced to sell the player against their will, or receive a mere compensation package when he leaves under freedom of his current deal.

Fulham, who only recently signed Fyvie’s former team mate Jack Grimmer for £200,000, were close to a deal for the midfielder last year but ultimately opted against paying out the budget busting £1 million fee. The player, who’s also of interest to Norwich, has scored twice in 55 appearances for the Dandies.
