The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are still hopeful of a top four finish this season…
However, it seems as though Martin Keown isn’t of the same opinon, with the ex-Arsenal ace recently discussing Man Utd’s title credentials for the Daily Mail.
As per the Daily Mail, he said: “Jose Mourinho will know that the run of fixtures is a really tough ask. They have the hardest fixtures of anybody”.
Before adding: “I don’t see them doing it”.
Keown, who spent 11 years at Arsenal, spoke kindly of Arsenal, though, stating that he “still think[s] they have a chance” of reaching the top four this season.
There is no doubting that Man Utd have it tough over the coming weeks and months. Key games against Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea could yet define Man Utd’s season, and Jose Mourinho must ensure that he manoeuvres around those games efficiently.
Of course, both Arsenal and Man Utd meet each other as the season draws to a close, and that game could be absolutely vital in the context of the season.
The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to reach the Champions League next season, though they think going for the Europa League is a risk. Given that it is a knockout competition, placing an entire season’s worth of work on 90 minutes could end in disaster.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will want to finish what could be Arsene Wenger’s final season on a high.
