Martin Tyler: Milner is now unbeaten in all 51 games in which he has scored in the Premier League

Liverpool face a number of difficult tests once the international break is over with Spurs up next and Chelsea on the horizon. Of course, the Reds would put themselves in a commanding position if they come through those two games unscathed, with Man City still having to play Man United.

Jurgen Klopp also has the Champions League to worry about with a two-legged tie with FC Porto coming up, so fans could find themselves celebrating European and domestic glory this season.

The Reds had to rely on an unlikely hero in the form of James Milner last time out against Fulham as he converted the penalty to give Liverpool a 2-1 lead over the Cottagers.

And, Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler recently revealed an incredible stat about the Englishman.

‘James Milner is now unbeaten in all 51 games in which he has scored in the Premier League, a record the Liverpool midfielder extended at Craven Cottage. And 15 of his 21 Liverpool goals have been penalties, including 10 of his 16 in the Premier League, and 12 of his last 14 in all competitions.’

Liverpool fans have criticised the Englishman for his performances in the side at times as he’s looked vulnerable in possession and has struggled to have much of an impact, so it will come as some surprise that his goals are so crucial.

But, it’s safe to say that Milner has become a Jurgen Klopp favourite in recent years, especially in away games, as he quite often turns to him in an attempt to grind out results.

And, after catching wind of Milner’s incredible goalscoring stat in the Premier League, fans will be turning to the 33-year-old on a regular basis as his goals could prove crucial if the stat continues to follow the same pattern.

Who would have thought that James Milner’s goals can be so magical?
