An Everton defender has revealed that he has already held a couple of talks with Marco Silva in recent times.
The youngster has admitted that he is keen to learn as much as possible from Silva and believes his boss has made it easy for him to approach him about certain aspects.
“I’ve had a couple of meetings with him, just to clear up certain aspects of my game that he has seen or things he wants me to do,” he told the club’s official website.
“It’s helping me out a lot because it’s clear what he wants, then hopefully I can go out and do it.
“I’m really enjoying it [playing under Silva]. Being young, there are still some things I might not be clear on and I feel I can go to the manager and ask questions and he doesn’t have a problem with that. It makes it a lot easier for me.”
Holgate’s willingness to learn from a manager that appears to be really open to his players could be a great thing for Everton.
The defender is expected to have a bright future at the club and his determination to speak and learn from his new manager already should help him reach the potential many feel he has.
Holgate could feature for Silva’s side this weekend when they face West Ham United, as the Toffees currently have a number of injury concerns heading into the game on Saturday.
