Everton are set to allow one of their talented youngsters to leave the club on loan this January.
The England Under-21 international signed a five-year deal with the Toffees a year ago, but he has not played for the club since September and has found his chances limited with Michael Keane, Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina at the back.
It is understood that there is already a significant interest in the £6.3million-rated enforcer, as per Transfermarkt, with Premier League and Championship clubs thought to be keen on taking him on board.
However, it would appear that he still has a future at Goodison Park, as Everton are keen to see the 22-year-old return from a possible loan spell.
Holgate was touted to be a great player at Everton in the past and has shown that he can perform at a top level when given the opportunity to do so.
However, with the likes of Keane, Mina and Zouma already battling it out for a spot in the centre of the defence, it would be difficult to see the 22-year-old getting many chances.
A loan move could be best for both club and player, as he will be able to continue to develop by getting regular minutes whilst Everton will be able to keep tabs on his progress within first-team football.
