‘Massive bargain’, ‘Bring him home’ – West Ham fans call for January raid of PL rival on Twitter

The resident Hammers in the Transfer Tavern are feeling positive about the future of their club under David Moyes.

The West Ham fans have been in a noticeably buoyant mood since the arrival of David Moyes back in November. It is fair to say that his appointment went down pretty terribly with the supporters, but the club’s improvement since he took charge has forced plenty of his doubters to admit that the right decision was ultimately made by the board.

Despite the club’s improvement in the past two months, the Hammers should still be in the market to land a couple of key signings this month to ensure their Premier League status is preserved.

And according to reports in The Express, Moyes is hoping to lure Newcastle United’s live wire Jonjo Shelvey away from Tyneside to East-London this month.

According to the report, Shelvey’s move could cost West Ham around £12 million, which is a decent price in the modern economic climate – especially considering he belongs to a Premier League rival.

The West Ham supporters have voiced their opinion regarding a move for Shelvey on Twitter, and judging by the reaction so far, he would be a popular signing on the whole.

There are some lingering doubts about Shelvey’s attitude and reliability, but plenty of The Hammers faithful seem willing to take a gamble on the England international.

Here’s what the West Ham fans had to say about a potential move for Shelvey…
